The successful
candidate for the Hardware Design Engineer position will be involved
in the system and sub system level testing of hardware in a development
environment and provides technical support to the Production Department.
The Hardware Design Engineer
provides design support to Senior Design Engineers in the form of circuit
level prototyping, analysis and testing of new designs for pre-amplifiers,
signal acquisition, power amplifiers and power supplies required to
support the company's sonar system developments.
Working from general instructions
of senior level engineers, the Hardware Design Engineer carries out
the design and implementation phases on assigned portions of engineering
projects.
The Hardware Design Engineer
prepares specifications, estimates, test schedules, etc. Also, Hardware
Design Engineer submits reports and technical memoranda, and maintains
an engineering notebook. Generating and maintaining documentation is
also required. Routine matters are handled semi-independently, but assistance
is readily available.
The successful candidate
for the Hardware Design Engineer position may also be involved in the
printed circuit board layout, origination and prototype assembly, as
well as the documentation of the products to support production.
Occasional field support
of deployed systems is possible once sufficient familiarity with the
company's products is attained and a willingness to travel for short
periods is required.
