EdgeTech adds new higher frequency side scan option to
2200-S Integrated System for Small AUVs.
EdgeTech has added a new dual frequency 300/600 kHz high-resolution
side scan option to its existing 2200-S Integrated System for Small
AUVs.
The EdgeTech 2200-S is now offered with a Full Spectrum® ("chirp")
dual frequency 120/410 kHz or 300/600 kHz side scan sonar. The 2200-S
processor transmits long, wide bandwidth pulses that result in higher
resolution images and greater Signal to Noise Ratio resulting in
extended range.
In addition, the system also has a 4-24 kHz Full Spectrum®
sub-bottom profiler with a number of selectable pulses available
within that range. By changing the center frequency of the pulse
it is possible to adjust the penetration and resolution of the sub-bottom
profiler.
The 2200-S is controlled by the AUV via an Ethernet link and uses
less than 30 watts of power.
The 2200-S is typically used for, but not limited to MCM (Mine
Counter Measures), geo-hazard, geological/geophysical, pipeline/cable
route and search surveys.
EdgeTech manufactures a variety of marine products including sub-bottom
systems, combined side scan/sub-bottom systems, and modular imaging
systems for deep towed, AUV, ROV and other applications utilizing
Full Spectrum, multi-ping or synthetic aperture acquisition and
processing techniques.
