EdgeTech introduces
new Portable Sub-Bottom Profiling System.
EdgeTech
has added another system to its already successful sub-bottom line.
The new 3100-P Sub-Bottom Profiling System is EdgeTech's portable
solution for sub-bottom imaging. The 3100-P System uses Full
Spectrum ("chirp") pulses to create high-definition image
slices of the sub-bottom structure. It can be used in rivers,
lakes, ponds and in the ocean.
The 3100-P System comes
with a choice of two (2) tow vehicles to meet the penetration and
resolution requirements of a survey. The SB-216S tow vehicle
has a frequency range from 2-16 kHz and the SB-424 tow vehicle from
4-24 kHz. Both vehicles use specially designed transmitters
with low Q-wide band characteristics best suited for "chirp"
transmissions. Two (2) multi-element line array hydrophones
are installed in the tow vehicle to reduce acoustic scattering from
the sides.
The 3100-P System comes
with the standard EdgeTech 3100-P Portable Topside Processor which
consists of a splash resistant topside case containing the amplifier
and Full Spectrum electronics. A laptop computer running EdgeTech's
DISCOVER sub-bottom software is where the sonar data is displayed
and stored.
EdgeTech manufactures
a variety of marine products including side scan systems, sub-bottom
systems, combined side scan/sub-bottom systems and modular imaging
systems for deep towed, AUV, ROV and other applications utilizing
Full Spectrum ("chirp"), multi-ping and synthetic aperture
acquisition and processing techniques.
