May 3, 2004 EDGETECH announces upgrades
and new system options for 272-series towfish.
(West Wareham, MA) EdgeTech's classic 272-TD side
scan sonar tow fish with improved IGBT (Isolated Gate Bipolar Transistor)
for the replacement of the old SCR's is now being offered additionally
to the EdgeTech 4100P (Portable) Topside Processor.
This new 4100 Side Scan Sonar System provides users with all the
capabilities of the 272-TD towfish along with the easy to transport
4100P topside. The 4100P provides a fully waterproof housing for
the fish interface and power supply, with 12VDC, 115 & 230VAC
power options as standard. Display and control is via EdgeTech's
Discover software on a removable laptop or other Windows© computer.
Remote laptop to 4100P interfacing options includes 10/100BaseT,
Wireless (802.11b), or Powerline links using TCP/IP protocol.
If you prefer a standard rack mountable topside or a single frequency
towfish, EdgeTech's 4100 System offers the 4100 Topside Processor
and 272-T tow fish as options.
Uses for side scan sonar include geo-hazard surveys, geological/geophysical
surveys, route surveys, archeological surveys, and search and recovery.
EdgeTech manufactures a variety of marine products including sub-bottom
systems, combined side scan/sub-bottom systems, and modular imaging
systems for deep towed, AUV, ROV and other applications utilizing
Full Spectrum, MultiPing or synthetic aperture acquisition and processing
techniques.
