EDGETECH
will unveil new dual mode Side Scan Sonar System at Oceanology International
2004 London.
EdgeTech
has just completed work on the latest addition to their line of
products. The new 4200-FS Dual Mode Side Scan Sonar System provides
a unique advantage over conventional dual frequency side scan systems
by combining EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum and MultiPulse technologies
into one unit.
The 4200-FS Side Scan
System offers two software selectable modes of operation:
- High
Definition Mode (HDM) – conventional mode operation with
extra long array (90 cm) for superior resolution; excellent for
Mine Countermeasures (MCM's).
-
High Speed Mode (HSM) – dual pulse operation for speeds
up to 10 knots, while meeting NOAA and IHO requirements for “hits
on target” compared to conventional systems at 4 knots.
This is an additional feature for high-speed navy patrol vessels.
While in HDM the 4200-FS
system operates simultaneous dual frequencies (120/410 kHz) and
when in HSM the system will operate in MultiPulse mode on either
selected frequency. Real time selection of these two modes allows
the user to choose the one best suited to his task at hand.
The new 4200-FS system
can be seen at stand number 427 at Oceanology International 2004
London and on the EdgeTech website at www.edgetech.com.
Uses for side scan sonar
include geo-hazard surveys, geological/geophysical surveys, route
surveys, archeological surveys, and search and recovery.
EdgeTech manufactures
a variety of marine products including sub-bottom systems, combined
side scan/sub-bottom systems, and modular imaging systems for deep
towed, AUV, ROV and other applications utilizing Full Spectrum,
MultiPing or synthetic aperture acquisition and processing techniques.
