New EdgeTech Products in High Demand.

EdgeTech Marine announced today that the company is significantly ahead of the sales figures originally forecast for 2004. This great success has to do with the launch of their newest product, the 4200-FS Dual Mode Side Scan System, along with the strong sales of their 4300-MPX High Resolution/High-Speed Multipulsed Side Scan and 3200-XS model 512i Sub-Bottom Profiling Systems.

The first of the 4200-FS Systems was delivered in August, and since that time EdgeTech has been continuously shipping them to keep up with the high demand for the new system. The 4200-FS offers two software selectable modes of operation: High Definition Mode (HDM) for superior resolution and High Speed Mode (HSM) for dual pulse operation at up to 10 knots. An added feature for the 4200-FS is its ability to get good resolution target data at over 200m per side on the high frequency. The 4200-FS has the ability to run over 6000m of coax cable and can be towed at above 5 knots without having to use a depressor.

The 4300-MPX System has enjoyed great success this past year, especially with militaries acquiring the system for Hydrographic and Mine Countermeasure (MCM) surveys. The 4300-MPX is a multi-pulse, high speed, high-resolution side scan system that produces superior sonar imagery through the use of Dynamic Aperture Processing (DAP). The system places multiple sound pulses in the water simultaneously and can therefore perform surveys at speeds 4 times greater than conventional side scan systems or get 4 times as many pings on a target at the same speed.

EdgeTech’s 3200-XS Sub-Bottom System continues with its successful sales again in 2004. The 3200-XS System provides users with excellent penetration and superior resolution in a variety of sub-bottom materials. The system offers three tow vehicle options which allow the user a wide range of frequencies ranging from
500 Hz – 24 kHz depending on desired penetration.

EdgeTech manufactures a variety of marine products including sub-bottom systems, combined side scan/sub-bottom systems, and modular imaging systems for deep towed, AUV, ROV and other applications utilizing Full Spectrum, MultiPing or synthetic aperture acquisition and processing techniques.
